Electrical Automobile Charging Stations Susceptible to Cyber Assaults: Nitin Gadkari

Electrical automobile charging stations are additionally vulnerable to cyber assaults and cyber safety incidents like every other technological software, Parliament was knowledgeable on Thursday.

In a written reply to Lok Sabha, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated the Indian Laptop Emergency Response Crew (CERT-In), which is remitted to trace and monitor cyber safety incidents in India, acquired reviews of vulnerabilities in merchandise and purposes associated to electrical automobile charging stations.

“The federal government is totally cognizant and conscious of assorted cyber safety threats and is actively taking steps to fight the problem of hacking,” Gadkari stated.

He stated as per the knowledge reported to and tracked by CERT-In, the variety of cyber safety incidents throughout 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 is 2,08,456; 3,94,499; 11,58,208; 14,02,809 and 13,91,457, respectively.

Replying to a separate question, the street transport and highways minister stated Rs. 147 lakh was disbursed as compensation to victims of hit-and-run instances in present fiscal 12 months until February.

The ministry has notified the Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accidents Scheme, 2022.

It offers for elevated compensation to victims of hit-and-run accidents, Rs. 50,000 (in case of grievous damage) and Rs. 2,00,000 (in case of loss of life) together with detailed process for availing this compensation.

Replying to a different query, Gadkari stated the ministry has set the next goal of 12,200 km for building of Nationwide Highways throughout present monetary 12 months as in comparison with earlier three monetary years.

“The goal of building of NHs for monetary 12 months 2023-24 has not but been finalized,” he added.

The minister knowledgeable that there are 19 initiatives costing Rs. 21,864 crore that are delayed as a result of delays in land acquisition.
